Hello Newgrounds! I have not forgotten about you, I never could. I check back in here fairly regularly. I have a NG tank pin on my jacket that I wear all the time! Kinda sad they closed the general forum, although I do get it.

I did forget or choose not to make a yearly post the past couple years mostly because I didn’t have much going on besides working at a burger shop. However earlier this year I finally got a job working as an animator on a TV show! I’m not allowed to say what show it is but yeah it’s pretty great. Learning ToonBoom Harmony on the job, not at all as daunting as I thought it would be. It’s honestly fun animating with rigs and barely having to draw anything lol, deformers are epic. Things are going well!

Thank you Newgrounds for existing and being an integral part in my journey as an animator. It was the 15th anniversary of making my NG account yesterday, I was actually intending to make this post yesterday but it slipped my mind lol. And my 25th birthday was on Tuesday. Passage of time is wild, I miss 2009 internet in general. Man. Either way I love this place forever.

I actually wish I had more stuff to upload here over the years, I always had ideas of stuff I wanted to make but I never really finished anything after 2014 lol, maybe just school got too busy and/or I lost the drive to finish full cartoons. I have some stuff from uni but it’s kinda rushed and/or unfinished, like it’s kinda whatever.

There’s also this podcast animation I started in like end of 2016, I last worked on it in like summer 2017 because one of the two people on the podcast got exposed for creeping on women so that put my animation in an awkward spot lol. I think I had animated like 3 minutes of it, and there was like 1-2 minutes left. Maybe one day I’ll just finish it for the sake of it, I doubt it though. Or I’ll just post the part I already made.

I do want to make new stuff too, mostly podcast animations (I listen to a bunch of crap) but honestly I’m so sleepy when I get home from work so not sure if that’ll happen anytime soon hahaha. Even the weekends, today was a Saturday and I spent most of it in or on my bed.

Just belatedly making my ritual annual post commemorating my NG anniversary and birthday, 12th and 22nd respectively. Pretty crazy stuff, huh. Not much going on atm lol just trying to find a job, if anyone needs an animator or knows someone who does, hmu. Love you Newgrounds, ttyl <3

Was my 11th NG anniversary on the 26th (sorry I'm late!) and my 21st birthday on the 23rd. Quarantine sucks! Currently slacking majorly on working on my final uni project, but it'll probably be fine. I'll be posting it here later this year depending on if it turns out shitty or not, which it probably will but whatever! Just getting it done, that's the goal really. How's everyone else's lives right now, sitting at home?

As far as posting things here, there's a slew of things I have on my computer all in various states of completion (none of them being finished). I hope to return to these things once I finish uni, but looking back on how many things I've said to look forward to that have yet to see the light of day, don't hold your breath!

See you guys again in hopefully less than a year :)))

Almost forgot to mention, but NG is awesome. Thanks for all the years, and here's to many more. I hope this website is somehow online forever, it really means a lot to me. Love this place.

and in three days, I'll have been on Newgrounds for 8 years!!! wow, woah. what a long time. love you NG!!! New cartoons hopefully in the summer? I'm a lazy piece of shit!!

yea i dunno, my last post was two years ago and I was like "big fuckin plans!!" and then nothing happened lmao.

I have been animating however! Just not proper full cartoons, mostly just practicing techniques and shit.

Hopefully I'll actually do something this year, maybe even this month if I'm lucky!!

So yeah. I'm animating an excerpt from the CoolGames Inc podcast, which is a load of fun and I recommend checking that out, as well as all of the other things that Nick and Griifin get up to at Polygon.com.

This animation probably won't be done just this month however, as I will have to put it on the backburner until the end of this month to keep up with various other boring assignments.

I haven't been able to consistently put a lot of time into it, hence that preview being uploaded in November, but I've done around 2 minutes 40 seconds of a full 5 mintues so far, with probably the total working time being a very small fraction of the time that has passed since I started on it. This means that once my schedule clears up, it'll be done kinda soonish after that. I'm gonna put an ETA on that for maybe next month? Don't hold your breath.

School sucks, not much more to say on that front, lol. Been applying to animation courses at universities, probably won't end up going in September and I'll be taking a gap year instead but we'll see. I got offers from all five of my choices so that's neat. Just don't know if I'm gonna get the grades lol.

Here's my new YouTube, since my last one got demonetised a while ago and Google snatched $100 of ad rev from me. Fuck you guys!!! Haha. No but seriously YouTube should crash and burn and all the bitch ass traitor animators who abandoned NG can finally come back here and start uploading again.

• Tried to rush NATA during the lead up to mock exam week and failed miserably, DON'T TRY AND FIND IT, IT SUCKS!!!

• Got a Cintiq 13HD from saving up LOADS and winning £200 from a UK anim. competition and damn, it was £690 at the time! A 12wx was still a goddamn £1000 before they released this!
• Having a Cintiq since July has also improved my animation a lot, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH DRAWING DIRECTLY ONTO A SCREEN ADVANCES YOUR ABILITY!!!
• I've been learning some simple After Effects on the side too and I finally learnt how to insert keyframes :^)

tl; dr; Animation skills getting better, the next thing I make will look a lot better
